THANK YOU FOR THE ENDORSEMENT!

2024 – Rick Amato – DeKalb County State’s Attorney

It is with great happiness that I endorse Lori Grubbs for DeKalb County Circuit Clerk.  I have known Lori for over 21 years. I met her when I started my career and she was a Deputy Clerk.  She has served in many different positions within the Circuit Clerk’s Office over that time, but she has served each role with great competence and impeccable kindness.

Serving alongside Lori during her first four years as Circuit Clerk has been great.  She brings the same fantastic people skills and professionalism to every challenge she has met and exceeded. Lori Grubbs is the right choice to be the DeKalb County Circuit Court Clerk.  She is a natural leader that can be trusted. Please join me in voting to re-elect Lori Grubbs!

2024 – Maureen Josh – DeKalb County Circuit Clerk (Retired)

Lori Grubbs is an excellent Circuit Clerk.  Since being elected in 2020, she has implemented programs and processes to serve the citizens of DeKalb County.  Through a grant, she opened the first self-help legal center to assist citizens with court matters and help them navigate the court system.  She continues to work on initiatives that can reduce costs and improve efficiency in the office while serving the public.  She manages a staff who are dedicated to working with the court system while serving the citizens of our county in a professional and responsible manner.  Lori Grubbs is a hardworking, devoted public official who knows the court system, the role of the Circuit Clerk and cares about the people she serves.  DeKalb County is fortunate to have a woman of Lori Grubbs experience, integrity and dedication as their Circuit Clerk.  I recommend her to you without reservation and ask that you join me in re-electing Lori Grubbs as our Circuit Clerk.

2024 – Lawyers for Lori Grubbs

As we enter into the election season, all voters will have a series of decisions confronting them, including determining who is the best candidate for Clerk of the Circuit Court of DeKalb County.  As members of the DeKalb County legal community, we are acutely aware of the importance of the Circuit Clerk’s role in the administration of the court’s business.  Many of us have the opportunity to travel and interact with Circuit Clerk’s in various other counties throughout the State of Illinois.  It is this experience that serves as the foundation for us to give our strongest endorsement for Lori Grubbs to be re-elected to her current position as the Clerk of the Circuit Court of DeKalb County.

Many of us have known Lori throughout her time with the office.  She began, first, as a deputy clerk, eventually became the supervisor of the Civil section of the Circuit Clerk’s office.  When her predecessor, Maureen Josh, decided to retire, there was a strong outpouring of support from DeKalb’s legal community for Lori to seek the Circuit Clerk position.  It was our hope that she would be the most capable of maintaining the “Status quo” of what was widely viewed to be a highly effective and efficient Circuit Clerk’s office.  Now, after four years of her serving in office, we can proudly say that during her term, she far exceeded our hopes.

Lori’s time in the position has brought marked improvements to the Circuit Clerk’s office.  Changes began with posting the daily court docket to the Circuit Clerk’s website.  What might be viewed as a simple change, this addition added an amazing resource which allows attorneys and the public to quickly verify court appearances for that day and the next court day.  Lori’s tenure has also seen the addition of a Self-Help legal center which serves to assist the public with filing information into their court case files.  Lori was able to obtain funding through grants which allow for the Self-Help center to be staffed throughout the week and not be dependent on the availability of a clerk.  Further, Lori worked with the DeKalb County Bar Association to implement a “Lawyer in the Lobby” program to provide free legal assistance to the general public from local private attorneys. Her time in office was also marked with unprecedented challenges with the passing of the Pretrial Fairness Act. This legislation resulted in a massive overhaul of the bond system throughout the State of Illinois as cash bond was eliminated and pre-trial release was reformed.  Under Lori’s leadership, the DeKalb County Circuit Clerk’s office was able to adjust to these changes seamlessly.

At the same time, Lori’s office continued to maintain a standard of excellence in the administration and maintenance of court records.  Whether we are making requests for copies of Court documents, asking to review a case file, or for any other manner of assistance, we have confidence these requests will be handled quickly, efficiently, with professionalism, and in a polite and friendly manner.

Lori’s 29 years with the Circuit Clerk’s office have repeatedly demonstrated what many of us have always known.  She is kind, honest, responsible, accountable, and has the proven leadership to take the Circuit Clerk’s office into the future challenges it is likely to face. Lori Grubbs’ time in office proves why so many members of the DeKalb Legal community supported her original candidacy and why we will continue to believe in her campaign for re-election. Simply put, Lori Grubbs is the only and best choice for the position of Clerk of the Circuit Court of DeKalb County.
